Demon Slayer Infinity Castle Movie Review | A Controversial Take

Controversial statement incoming: Demon Slayer Infinity Castle is not a phenomenal film. I know. With the mainstream reception it has got, saying this out loud feels almost wrong. But here we are.

After five incredible seasons of the anime, the hype going in was enormous and entirely justified on paper. And the film starts really strong. The moment things kick off you are gripped. The animation quality is stunning. In those opening stretches you feel like you are watching something genuinely special.

But then the screenplay falls apart. The single biggest issue is that there is no flow. Every time the film builds momentum and you feel yourself getting locked in, something interrupts it. This is not a normal pacing issue. It is a structural problem with how the screenplay is put together. For a film of this scale, with this much emotional investment built up from fans over five seasons, that is a significant problem.

Anime fans are going to see this regardless, and the theatrical experience with the visuals and sound is genuinely worth it. But go in knowing this is not the flawless masterpiece a lot of people are calling it.
