The Diplomat Season 2 Review | Netflix

The Diplomat Season 2 picks up right where Season 1’s cliffhanger ended and does not waste a single episode.

Keri Russell continues to be one of the most watchable performers on television right now. Kate Wyler is a brilliantly written character: deeply competent, perpetually overwhelmed, and never less than completely human. The political and diplomatic intrigue this season gets more complex and more personal simultaneously — a hard balance to pull off. Rufus Sewell gets considerably more to do and makes the most of every scene he is in. The writing moves fast enough to keep you engaged while trusting you to keep up.

Solid, confident television. If you watched Season 1, Season 2 absolutely delivers. If you have not started this show yet, go back to the beginning. You will be caught up in a weekend and glad you did it.
