A fantastic film that is funny, quirky, and most of all, grounded. The creative sensibilities of Director Basil Joseph are top notch and I am really proud that we have finally made a worthy film in this genre. The film is well written and characters are fleshed out in a manner that compels you to feel for them.
At its heart, it is a good vs evil story set in a small village. However, the ambition is big and Minnal Murali achieves it all with the humility and genuineness that Malayalam cinema is known for. The highlight of the film, apart from the direction, is Guru Somasundaram’s performance as Shibu. He gives a layered portrayal of a character that is complicated, twisted, evil, and yet, manages to get you to feel for him.
