Matrix Resurrections felt like a film that Wachowskis did not want to direct, a film where Keanu did not want to act, a film where the action is such that Neo would not even be able to beat assassins from John Wick. It was lazy, sloppy and frankly, utterly pointless.
If you are not a fan, you can definitely skip it. If you are a fan and want to watch it, don’t spend extra on IMAX. There is nothing in the film that needs to be experienced in an IMAX theatre. It would be best to wait and watch it on streaming. That way, you at least minimise your disappointment, because for a fan, it cannot be eliminated completely.
